ALBANY, N.Y. - ECAC Hockey has announced it’s women’s weekly award winners, and Elizabeth Giguere (Clarkson), CC Bowbly (Dartmouth), and Abbie Ives (Quinnipiac) have all been honored for the week ending December 1, 2019.
Player of the Week
Giguere (Jr. - Quebec City, Que.) was named the MVP of the Windjammer Classic this weekend after scoring three of Clarkson’s seven goals against Minnesota State and Penn State. The junior buried a pair of goals in the Golden Knights 4-0 win on Friday before opening the scoring in a 3-1 win Saturday afternoon. She ended the week with aa +4 on-ice rating, and 13 shots on goal.
Rookie of the Week
Bowlby (Fr. - Edina, Minn.) had the best outing of her young career on Saturday, playing a part in three of Dartmouth’s five goals against Maine (1G, 2A). The goal came with the Big Green on the penalty kill, the first shorthanded goal of the season for Dartmouth, and was the eventual game-winner in the 5-2 victory.
MAC Goaltending Goalie of the Week
Ives (Sr. - Bedford Hills, N.Y.) was outstanding for Quinnipiac in their 8th Nutmeg Classic Championship, allowing just three goals in route to a pair of wins. She made a career-high 42 saves in a 4-2 win over No. 10 Minnesota Duluth on Friday before allowing just one goal (34 saves) in the championship game against Yale on Saturday.
