ALBANY, N.Y. - It’s another loaded slate for the ECAC Hockey women this weekend, as six teams will be in action for either regular-season or exhibition contests.
For the second straight week, St. Lawrence got the weekend started on Thursday with a non-league tilt against Vermont. Kayla Vespa scored a goal and assisted on another, helping the Saints to a 2-2 tie. They’ll have a chance to take the series against the Catamounts with another game scheduled for tonight at 6 p.m.
RPI continues its tough start to the non-league schedule with a trip to University Park for a two-game set against Penn State. The last time these two teams met, they skated to a 1-1 tie in Troy, with current senior Blake Orosz scoring the lone goal of the game for the Engineers.
After splitting its home-and-home series against Providence last weekend, Quinnipiac will look to get back into the win column this week when it travels to Maine for a pair of games against the Bears. The all-time series is neck and neck between these programs, with Maine holding a slight 14-13 edge. Freshman Alexa Hoskin was named ECAC Hockey Rookie of the Week on Monday after scoring her first collegiate goal as part of a 2-1 win against Providence.
Harvard, Yale, and Dartmouth will all compete in exhibition games this weekend, as each team takes on McGill to gear up for the start of their regular-seasons in just two weeks.
ECAC Hockey has three teams featured in the national polls, and two others receiving votes:
- No. 4/4 Clarkson
- No. 5/5 Cornell
- No. 6/6 Princeton
- RV Harvard
- RV Colgate
