ECAC Hockey Announces Women's Award Winners for October

ALBANY, N.Y. - ECAC Hockey has announced its monthly award winners for the month of October, and Kayla Vespa (St. Lawrence), Anna Segedi (St. Lawrence), and Liz Auby (Colgate) have all been honored.

Women’s Player of the Month

Vespa (Sr. - Hamilton, Ont.) led the league with 13 points during October, scoring five goals and adding eight assists in the Saints six games. She recorded multiple points in every game this month, including at least one goal in each of the last four games. She also boasted a league-best +9 on-ice rating, and won 58.4% of here face-offs to help St. Lawrence to a 3-1-2 record in October.

Women’s Rookie of the Month

Segedi (Fr. - Commerce Township, Mich.) was also instrumental in the Saints success this month, scoring six goals and adding five assists to lead all rookie scorers. Her best game came in a 4-1 win over New Hampshire, as the speedy forward notched her first career hat trick. She finished October with a +7 on-ice rating.

MAC Goaltending Goalie of the Month

Auby (Sr. - Stoughton, Wisc.) started all six games in net for the Raiders this month, boasting a 4-1-1 record. She faced 162 shots in October, sending aside 151 while only allowing more than two goals in a game once. She currently ranks second in the league with 243 total saves.
