ALBANY, N.Y. - ECAC Hockey has announced its players of the week for the week ending March 3, 2019, and players from Princeton, Colgate, and Clarkson have all been honored.
Sarah Fillier (Princeton) continued to prove why she’s one of the top players in the country, recording six points (4G, 2A) in her first two post-season contests this weekend to earn Player of the Week. The freshman posted a hat-trick in Friday’s opening game against St. Lawrence before scoring another goal and dishing out two assists in Saturday’s series-clinching win. She finished the weekend +4, and also displayed dominance in the face-off circle, winning 65.3% of her draws.
Colgate’s Eleri MacKay takes home Rookie of the Week honors after helping the Raiders come back from a game down to pick up a series win against Harvard this weekend. The Brookfield, Wisc. native scored a goal in Saturday’s 4-2 win, before recording her first career hat trick in Sunday’s series clinching victory. She finished the series +3, scoring two power-play goals and a game-winning goal.
Clarkson’s Kassidy Sauvé has now been named Goalie of the Week five times this season, the most of any league goaltender. The senior was key in the Golden Knights series sweep of Quinnipiac this weekend, allowing just three goals through the two games. She finished the weekend with a 1.39 GAA and .947 save percentage, helping Clarkson move on to the ECAC Hockey Semifinals.
