ALBANY, N.Y. - The ECAC Hockey women’s regular-season is in the books, and the eight-team playoff field is set. Three players stood out among the pack in the final weekend of play, as players from Colgate and Brown have been named to the weekly honor roll for the week ending February 24, 2019.
Colgate’s Jessie Eldridge earns Player of the Week honors for the second time this season after lifting the Raiders to a a pair of wins in the final weekend of play. The senior scored three goals and dished out three assists, including a four point (2G, 2A) outing on Friday at Union. She also broke her own single season points record over the weekend, while leading the Raiders to the number two seed in the upcoming ECAC Hockey Tournament.
Tanner Gates (Colgate) closed out her phenomenal rookie campaign with a three-point weekend, earning her second Rookie of the Week accolade this year. The Oceanside, Calif. native lit the lamp with a goal in Friday’s game, before dishing out a pair of assists in a 4-2 win over RPI on Saturday. She now has 20 points in just 32 games this season, leading all Colgate rookie skaters.
Hayley Kliczko (Brown) stopped 40 of the 41 shots that came her way Saturday afternoon, helping the Bears to a tie against Dartmouth. The freshman stopped 16 shots in a scoreless first period, as well as all 10 shots she faced in the third to force an overtime frame. She’s now recorded four 40+ save outings this season.
