ALBANY, N.Y. - ECAC Hockey has announced its weekly award winners for the week ending February 10, 2019, and players from Princeton and Harvard have been selected as winners.
Princeton’s Maggie Connors has been selected as Player of the Week after leading the nation with five goals over the weekend. The freshman scored a career-high four goals in Friday night’s win over Yale, before coming back the following day with another goal and assist to give her seven points for the week (5G, 2A). Connors became the first Princeton player since 2006 to post five points in a game with her four goal, one assist night on Friday.
Sarah Fillier (Princeton) picks up another Rookie of the Week honor this week after matching her teammate with seven points of her own (1G, 6A). The Georgetown, Ont. native also posted five points (1G, 5A) in Friday night’s game, allowing both her and Connors to eclipse the 12-year old record on the same night. Fillier now leads the nation in points-per-game, averaging 2.14 through Princeton’s first 21 contests.
Harvard’s Lindsay Reed picks up Goalie of the Week honors after going 2-0 for the Crimson this week, including a win over No. 7 Boston College. The freshman became the first Crimson goalie to post 50+ saves since November of 2016 when she stopped 52 of the 53 shots that came her way last Tuesday, helping Harvard secure a spot in the Beanpot Championship. Over the course of the week, she stopped 75 of the 77 shots that came her way (.974%), helping extend Harvard’s winning streak to five.
