ALBANY, N.Y. - ECAC Hockey has selected it’s women’s weekly award winners for the week ending February 3, 2019, and players from Cornell, Harvard, and Clarkson have been honored.
Cornell’s Kristin O’Neill earns Player of the Week honors for the first time this season after helping the Big Red to a 3-0 week. The junior recorded a nation high eight points (5G, 3A), including a pair of game-winning goals, and three power player goals. In Saturday’s 5-0 win against RPI, the Oakville, Ont. native recorded her second career hat trick, increasing her season tally to 17 goals.
Maryna Macdonald (Harvard) has been named Rookie of the Week after a four-point weekend that saw the Crimson pick up a par of wins over Yale and Brown. Macdonald had a breakout game against Yale on Friday, scoring a goal and adding a pair of assists to lead Harvard to a 5-2 win. She followed it up with another assist in Saturday’s win, finishing the weekend with a +3 on-ice rating.
Clarkson’s Kassidy Sauve earns her third Goalie of the Week accolade of the season after another undefeated weekend in which she allowed just three goals. She made 30+ saves in both outing, including a 37-save performance in Saturday’s 3-1 win over Princeton which helped the Golden Knights extend their winning streak to eight games. She finished the weekend with a 1.50 GAA, and .958 save percentage.
