ALBANY, N.Y. - ECAC Hockey has selected its weekly award winners for the week ending January 20, 2019, and Blake Orosz (RPI), Rosalie Demers (Colgate), and Marlene Boissonnault (Cornell) have all been honored.
Orosz earns player of the week honors after recording four points in RPI’s 4-1 win over Union on Friday. The junior netted her first career hat trick, which included the game-winning goal, registering eight of RPI’s 33 shots on the night. She also chipped in an assist, finishing the night with a +4 on-ice rating.
Demers came up big in Friday night’s 4-2 win at Harvard, scoring the game-winning goal to help the Raiders earn two key league points. She also dished out an assist the next night against Dartmouth, increasing her season points total to 12.
Boissonnault needed just one start to earn goalie of the week honors, as the senior recorded a 23-save shutout against Harvard on Saturday. It was the 13th shutout of her impressive career, which moved her into third place in the Cornell record books for career shutouts. She came up clutch at the end of this contest, recording 14 of her 23 saves in the third period.
