ALBANY, N.Y. - After the first full weekend of ECAC Hockey women’s action in 2019, Sarah Fillier (Princeton), and Abbie Ives (Quinnipiac) have been honored with weekly awards.
Fillier filled up the stat sheet this week, recording a nation leading eight points on five goals and three assists to earn both Rookie and Player of the Week. The freshman had multiple points in all three of the Tigers wins this week, scoring a goal in each contest including a pair of two-goal games against Merrimack and Dartmouth. She now has 26 points on the season, which ranks first amongst ECAC Hockey rookies and fifth overall.
Ives was fantastic in net this weekend, allowing just one goal in two games to lead the Bobcats to a pair of league wins. She stopped 58 of the 59 shots she faced, including all 28 in Saturday’s 1-0 shutout win against Harvard. Her 0.50 goals-against-average and .983 save percentage were both tops in the league this week.
