ALBANY, N.Y. - After an action packed weekend that saw eight teams compete in non-league action, ECAC Hockey has released it’s weekly award winners for the week ending November 25, 2018. Clarkson’s Loren Gabel (Player of the Week), and Kassidy Sauve (Goalie of the Week) were both honored, while Harvard’s Kristin Della Rovere was named Rookie of the Week after a breakout performance.
Gabel played a huge part in Clarkson’s sweep of Minnesota Duluth this past weekend, registering six points on four goals and two assists. The senior got things started on Friday by scoring all four Golden Knight goals, a new career-high. She followed it up on Saturday with a pair of assists in the 4-2 win, bringing her season points total to 28, which ranks second in the league.
Della Rovere led all rookies in scoring this past week, notching two goals and adding three assists over a three game span. The freshman had a three point night in the Crimson’s 7-3 win over Holy Cross on Tuesday, and registered a point in both games against No. 1 ranked Wisconsin.
Sauve earns her second goalie of the week honors this year after allowing just three goals in Clarkson’s sweep of Minnesota Duluth. The Whitby, Ont. native made 50 saves in the two game set, posting a .943 save percentage and earning her ninth and 10th wins of the season.
