ALBANY, N.Y. - With just two weeks left in the regular season, three teams have secured home ice advantage for the quarterfinal round of the ECAC Hockey women’s championship. The regular-season title is still up for grabs, however, as Princeton, Clarkson, and Cornell remain in the mix for the coveted trophy.
No. 5 Princeton and Quinnipiac will host Union and RPI this weekend, as the Tigers will look to clinch their first ever ECAC Hockey regular season championship this weekend with a pair of wins and a loss by both Clarkson and Cornell. Quinnipiac will be looking for league points, as the Bobcats currently sit in the final playoff position, just two points ahead of Yale.
The Bulldogs will have a tough test ahead of them in order to get back in the mix, as they and Brown travel to No. 9 Colgate and No. 6 Cornell this weekend. The last time these travel partners met, Brown came out with a pair of wins, as they'll look to complete the weekend sweep against the nationally-ranked foes.
No. 4 Clarkson and St. Lawrence will be on the road this weekend, squaring off with Dartmouth and Harvard in their final road series of the regular season. The Golden Knights are still in the mix for the regular-season title, but will need to win out and get a bit of help in order to hoist the regular-season trophy for the third straight year.
The league continues to lead the way in the national polls with four teams. Clarkson (No. 4), Princeton (No. 5), and Cornell (No. 6) remain set in their spots after last weekend, while Colgate moves up one spot to No. 9.
