NEW HAVEN, Conn. - The Bulldogs and the Bobcats entered play on Friday tied for the eighth in the ECAC Hockey standings, and they left Ingalls Rink tied following a 2-2 OT draw. Junior goaltender Tera Hofmann kept Yale in the game, making 34 saves and recording an assist.
Trailing 1-0 with just 18 seconds left in the first, senior captain Emma Vlasic found open ice, converting a fastbreak goal to knot the score before time expired. Vlasic was set up by first-year defenseman Tabea Botthof and Hofmann from the other end.
After Quinnipiac found the net 1:39 into the second period, pushing the score 2-1, sophomore forward Rebecca Foggia netted her third goal in four games to tie the game once again. Foggia converted in front of the net off a Claire Dalton assist, Dalton's 10th helper of her rookie campaign.
Hofmann notched her third-consecutive, 30-save game against the Bobcats. Her save percentage improved to .921.
The Bulldogs are back in action tomorrow in the annual White Out for Mandi game against #5 Princeton. Puck drop is slated for 3:00 p.m at Ingalls.
