SCHENECTADY, N.Y. – The Union College women's hockey team fell to Harvard, 5-1, Friday night at Messa Rink.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Crimson notched the opening goal of the match at the midway point of the first period to take lead, then added goals at 7:28 and 4:12 to take a 3-0 edge after the opening period.
- With Union on the power play early in the second period, Harvard scored a short-handed goal to make it 4-0. The visitors scored for the fifth time less than three minutes later to gain a decisive 5-0 advantage with 20 minutes left to play.
- 5:01 into the third period, the Dutchwomen got on the board when first-year forward Maia Martinezscored her first collegiate goal off feeds from classmate Grace Heiting and sophomore defenseman Megan Ryan.
Union returns to the ice tomorrow, Feb. 9, hosting Dartmouth for the Do It For Darron and Faculty & Staff Appreciation game at 3:00 p.m. (ET)
