The Yale women's hockey team dropped a hard-fought battle against ninth-ranked Colgate 5-2 at Ingalls on Saturday.
Junior forward Sophie Veronneau picked up her first goal of the season to put the Bulldogs on top 1-0 midway through the first period. She was assited by Kirsten Nergaard, who recorded her second assist in as many days.
After three straight Colgate goals, aided by an extra attacker, the Elis climbed back in it 3-2, as sophomore forward Rebecca Foggiafound the back of the net late in the second period. First-year forward Claire Dalton earned her first career point with an assist on the play. Foggia's tally gives her back-to-back games with a second-period goal.
Junior netminder Gianna Meloni saved 33 shots in net for Yale.
The Bulldogs are back on the road next weekend, facing off against Union on Friday and RPI on Saturday.
