Shutout Streak Continues for Tigers

The Princeton women's hockey team won its fourth consecutive game by shutout tonight in a 4-0 win at Union on Friday at Messa Rink.

Sophomore Stephanie Neatby and senior Alysia DaSilvaboth saw action in goal with Neatby making 21 stops in the first two periods before DaSilva made 13 saves in the third.

Freshman Annie MacDonald scored the game-winning goal, her second goal of the season, at 11:35 of the first. It came after Neatby had made a save and Princeton (10-10-4, 8-8-1 ECAC) quickly took it the other way with MacDonald and sophomore Carly Bullock going in for a 2-on-1 with Bullock making the final feed to MacDonald as she snuck the puck between the post and the skate of Coco Francis before she could make the slide.

Bullock added to the lead with her 18th goal of the season at 4:02 of the second. MaKenzie Ebel had the puck behind the goal and fed Bullock in the slot. Bullock's first shot was blocked by her defender put got the rebound and lifted it over the shoulder of Francis. Bullock  ow ranks sixth in the nation in goals per game, averaging 0.75 per game.

Freshman Sarah Verbeek got in on the scoring action with her third tally of the season coming on the power play. Kimiko Marinacci took the first shot from the high slot that went off of Francis' pad and Amanda Harris jumped on the loose puck and pushed it back to Verbeek on the wing who had a clear open net on the right side for the goal.

Senior captain Kiersten Falck pushed the game out of reach with an unassisted marker jamming the puck free off the wall at her own blue line and racing up the ice to deposit it five hole on Francis. Francis was relieved of her duties following the goal, finishing her day with 29 stops on 32 chances. Kate Spooner played the remaining 15:37 and made 10 saves.

The Tigers were a perfect 6 for 6 on the penalty kill and went 1 for 4 on the power play.
