Yale Falls in Overtime

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - It doesn't always matter who dominates the shot differential when it comes to winning games. The Yale Bulldogs found that out Saturday afternoon in a 2-1 overtime loss to the RIT Tigers.

Yale (1-1) and RIT (2-3-1) played a close first period, with the Tigers breaking through to take a 1-0 lead.

However, Yale dominated the second and third period for the second day in a row. The Bulldogs outshot the Tigers 32-8 in the final forty minutes.

Julia Yetman found the net in the second period, scoring on the power play 7:23 into the frame. Lauren Moriyama added an assist on the play, picking up her first career point.

Yale could not solve Terra Lanteigne in the final period despite pouring on 18 shots to RIT's two. Lanteigne finished with 40 saves on 41 shots.

Kendall Cornine scored 30 seconds into overtime to give RIT the win.

Gianna Meloni finished with 18 saves on 20 shots in the loss for Yale, her first career game.
