Princeton Blanks Union

Princeton got goals from sophomore Claire Thompson, sophomore Sylvie Wallin and freshman Amanda Harris to defeat Union 3-0. Senior Alysia DaSilva made 31 saves her first shutout of the season.

Thompson tallied her second goal of the season just 1:29 into the game when she found a lane from the left point on a pass from Karlie Lund in the corner. DaSilva had her most productive period in the first stopping 17 shots to keep her team ahead 1-0 at the intermission.

Freshman Amanda Harris net her second of the year putting away a Sharon Frankel rebound. Frankel got the puck at center ice and tried to send a backhand past Coco Francis but it went off of Francis' pad and back out to Harris who was trailing in. She toe dragged around her defender and put it over the shoulder of Francis to make it 2-0 at 12:59.

Less than two minute later sophomore Sylvie Wallin cashed in her first goal of the season, a drive from the top of the left circle on a feed from Lund that went top shelf.

Sophomore Mackenzie Ebel almost made it a 4-0 game in the third when she 'megged her defender but denied on the doorstep by Francis. With four minutes to play Princeton had series of chances in a scramble but couldn't get the fourth to go.

Princeton now 2-4-2 overall and 2-4 in the ECAC was 0 for 3 on the power play, while Union was 0 for 1.

Francis finished her night with 29 saves as the Dutchwomen fall to 3-8-1 overall and 2-2 in the league play.

Princeton will spend the next three weekends on the road, first heading to St. Lawrence and Clarkson next weekend, Nov. 17 & 18.
