Bullock Scores Seventh of the Season as Big Red Takes Game

Sophomore Carly Bullock who entered the weekend as the nation's leader in goals per game added her seventh of the season as Princeton lost a 3-1 game at No. 8 Cornell on Saturday afternoon at Lynah Rink.

Bullock's goal came 34 seconds after Cornell got on the board with a Madlynne Mills power-play goal.

Both netminders were putting on a show to keep it scoreless before each allowed one in the second to end the period in a 1-1 draw. Jaime Bourbonnais got the puck in the corner and fed Mills who was open at the left pipe. Bullock did a lot of work to get her team's goal as she pinched in the defensive zone before getting the puck out to Stephanie Sucharda. Bullock sped down the right boards and picked up the pass from Sucharda and backhanded one in on Marlene Boissonnault.

Pippy Gerace gave the Big Red the lead at 9:38 of the third when she intercepted a pass in the high slot over Stephanie Neatby.

Neatby was pulled for the extra skater with 1:55 remaining but the Tigers were unable to score before an empty-net goal by Amy Curlew.

Neatby finished the game with 21 saves as Princeton was 0 for 3 on the power play. Boissonnault stopped 19 shots as her team was 1 for 3 on the power play.

Princeton hosts Rensselaer and Union next weekend, Nov. 10 & 11 at Hobey Baker Rink.
