ALBANY, N.Y. -- The 2011-12 coaches’ preseason all-league team is made up of five underclassmen and one senior, which all ranked near the top of every statistical category last season in League play. As voted on by the league's 12 head coaches, players from two different teams - Cornell and Quinnipiac make-up the preseason all-league team, led by the Big Red’s four student-athletes.
Named to the third team all-conference team after the 2010-11 season ... Played in 37 games for the Bobcats leading the nation in minutes played among her counterparts recording 2179:57 ... Tied for the nation’s lead with nine shutouts last season ... Anchored a Bobcats’ defense which only surrendered 1.70 goals per game in 2010-11 ... She was a five-time ECAC Hockey Goalie of the Week.
Was a repeat selection to the Reebok Hockey/ACHA All-America First Team after last season ... She led all defensemen in the country in scoring with 41 points on nine goals and 32 assists in 33 games ... Was the only defenseman among the 2011 Patty Kazmaier Award finalists ... Her average of 0.97 assists per game ranks tied for eighth in the nation among all positional players.
Rougeau earned her second straight second-team All-American award after leading all defensemen in the country in +/- with a +50 rating last season ... She also pitched in on the offensive end, scoring 32 points in 33 games on four goals and 28 assists ... Was also a key member of the power-play and penalty-killing units last season, which ranked first and third in the nation respectively.
Was named the ECAC Hockey Player and Rookie of the Year during her freshmen campaign last season ... Had the most productive season in program-history, breaking the program's single season goals, assists, and points records finishing with 30 goals and 29 assists for 59 points, ranking first on the team, as well as first among all ECAC Hockey skaters, in all three categories.
A three-time first team all-conference selection, Johnston averaged 1.45 points per game in conference action last season ... She led the conference with a pair of short-handed goals to her credit last season and had five game-winners, tied for the most on the team and tied for 10th in the nation ... Entering her senior season she has amassed 67 goals and 60 assists for 127 total points in three seasons.
Coming off a stellar rookie season Jenner picked up a spot on the ECAC Hockey first team and all-rookie teams ... She finished the season with 23 goals and 27 assists in just 33 games, while also accumulating a +42 rating ... Ranked second among rookies in the nation in scoring with 1.52 points per game ... Was a three-time ECAC Hockey Rookie of the Week.
