ENGINEERS EDGE COLGATE
Two goals third period goals, 27 seconds apart, earned RPI a 3-2 victory at Colgate in the regular season finale, last Saturday in Hamilton, N.Y. ... Seniors Jimmy DeVito and Parker Reno erased a one-goal deficit, midway through the third for the victory ... Sophomore goaltender Chase Perry made 27 saves for RPI, while Colgate senior Charlie Finn had 18 stops.
NO. 9 CORNELL BLANKS RPI
Senior goaltender Mitch Gillam made 31 saves in shutting out Rensselaer, 2-0, last Friday at Lynah Rink in Ithaca, N.Y. ... Patrick McCarron and Mitch Vanderlaan each had second period tallies as the Big Red won, despite a 31-25 shots advantage for the Engineers ... Freshman defenseman Will Reilly had a game-high eight shots.
ENGINEERS POINTS LEADERS
Senior captain Riley Bourbonnais (15 goals, 12 assists) and sophomore Evan Tironese (7 goals, 20 assists) are tied for the team lead with 27 points apiece ... Freshman Jacob Hayhurst (7 goal, 13 assists) rounds out the top three with 20 points ... Junior Jared Wilson (10 goals, 5 assists) leads all blueliners with 15.
RENSSELAER IN GOAL
Coming into the weekend, sophomore goaltender Chase Perry is 6-18-1 as the starter in 25 of RPI's 35 contests in 2016-17 ... He has a 3.21 goals against average and a .911 save percentage ... In 18 ECAC Hockey contests (17 starts) he is 6-11-0 with a 2.82 goals against average and a .921 save percentage.
PACING THE GOLDEN KNIGHTS
Clarkson is led offensively by junior Sam Vigneault (11 goals, 22 assists) with 33 points ... Senior Troy Josephs (15 goals, 10 assists) has 25 points, while classmate Jordan Boucher (10 goals, 13 assists) has 23 ... James De Haas (6 goals, 16 assists) leads all Golden Knights blueliners with 22 points.
Freshman Jake Kielly has started 30 of Clarkson's 34 games this season, posting a 13-13-5 record ... He carries a 2.58 goals against average and a .915 save percentage into this weekend's action.
This year's playoff match-up means RPI and Clarkson will play at least five times this year, having already played three games during the regular year ... The Golden Knights took 2 of 3, including a 6-1 non-conference victory in Lake Placid on January 7 ... Clarkson also won at the Houston Field House, 5-2, on November 12, while the Engineers came away with a 2-1 victory in the most recent meeting, January 28, in Potsdam.

Sophomore Evan Tironese has been suspended for Friday night's game, it has been announced by ECAC Hockey ... Tironese was given a game misconduct in the closing moments of last Saturday's game at Colgate.

The Engineers are 4-4-0 when holding the opposition under 30 shots, including 1-1-0 against the Golden Knights ... Sophomore Chase Perry has posted a 3-2-0 record with a 1.84 goals against average and a .931 save percentage.
RICHARDSON '96 PICKED FOR HOF
Former RPI forward Bryan Richardson '96 was recently named the RPI Athletics Hall of Fame Class of 2017 ... He averaged 1.37 points per game in 141 career contests, scoring 80 goals with 113 assists for 193 points ... He currently ranks fourth in school history in career assists and eighth in points ... A three-time All-ECAC honoree, he had 23 goals and 29 assists for 52 points in 36 games as a sophomore and later notched 20 goals and 36 assists in 35 games as a senior ... The team eclipsed the 20-win mark twice in his four years, including his freshman year when he was named to the ECAC All-Rookie Team.
POWER PLAY IN 2017
RPI's power play is running at a 24.5% clip in the calendar year of 2017, which is good for 12th in the country.
IN ECAC HOCKEY PLAY
The Engineers boasted an ECAC Hockey-best 24.0% power play in league games ... Union was second at 23.9% ... Individually, senior captain Riley Bourbonnais' six man advantage tallies ranked sixth.

Rensselaer has a 5-7-0 record when senior captain Riley Bourbonnais scores a goal and a 3-19-1 mark when he doesn't.
RPI is 1-3-0 when sophomore Evan Tironese doesn't play this season ... The Engineers went 15-12-7 after he went down a season-ending injury last year.
Junior defenseman Jared Wilson ranks second nationally in goals by a defenseman with 10 ... Nebraska Omaha's Luc Snuggerud leads the way with 11 ... Wilson's 15.2% shot percentage is fourth in the country.
Freshman Jacob Hayhurst leads the Engineers with 261 face-off wins ... No RPI centerman had won 250 or more draws in a season since Brock Higgs collected 286 in 2013-14 ... Mike Zalewski also won 278 that year ... Hayhurst is second on the team in face-off winning percentage at 50.9%.
