You grew up in California, USA, tell us a little about that and you must have seen your fair share of celebs over there ? Yes, very surreal place to grow up. From time to time you would see the odd celebrity around town, but you gotta be really in the LA scene to catch them regularly. Majority of my celebrity time was my fathers job in the movie industry styling hair. He would always show me pictures of the celebrities he was working on.

You played one of your first year juniors with Valley Jr Warriors in the EJHL. Then you had a season with Indiana Ice in the USHL where you won a championship. How good was the feeling winning silverware so early on in your career ? Those were great times, both very memorable places. A very surreal experience to win so quickly. It defiantly gave me confidence as a player, but I would attribute a lot of that championship from our coach Jeff Blashill, who has had tremendous track record as a coach.

From they early years who would you say was the best player you played with or against at that time and why ? Torey Krug was my D partner in Indiana, and is now a regular D-man for the Boston Bruins. I would say he was so impressive to me because he was so small for a D man, especially at age 16/17 , but he was so calculated on the rink…also a great skater, hard worker, and really saw & read the game well.
