PRINCETON BOROUGH -- The unbridled excitement reverberated in the loudness of the players' cheers.
The joy wasn't surprising, either, after the Princeton men's ice hockey team beat Colgate on Nov. 3 to complete its first sweep of ECAC Hockey League opponents in 36 tries, and its first sweep at Cornell and Colgate since the 1994-95 season.
But the cheers in the locker room weren't the loudest of the night. They were trumped on the bus ride home when Landis Stan kievech, a senior forward who didn't go on the trip because he was interviewing for a Rhodes Scholarship to Oxford, called with the news he had made it through to the next round of interviews.
