Fueled by a monumental work ethic he felt mirrored his parents’, and a desire to win at all costs, Dan Wildfong made the most out of his 5-foot-10, 190-pound frame during an eight-year (1999-2007) professional hockey career – played out entirely in Shreveport and Bossier City.
An infectious personality away from the game complemented his tenacity on the ice and helped him become a Mudbugs fan favorite.
“What do we want from every player? Guys who work hard, put their team first and win at everything at they do -- that competition makes their blood flow,” said Scott Muscutt, a former Mudbugs teammate and coach – and longtime mentor – of Wildfong. “That’s Dan Wildfong. He’s that guy who wakes up in the morning and is finding a way to be better than the other guy.”
