Clarkson, which defeated Harvard 3-0 on Friday night, advances to Albany for the conference’s tournament championship round for the first time since 2004.

    Potsdam, NY – Junior goaltender David Leggio (Williamsville, NY) made 27 saves to backstopped number two seed Clarkson University to a 3-0 victory over seventh-seeded Harvard University in the first game of the ECAC Hockey League quarterfinal series on Friday night before 2,383 fans at Cheel Arena. The Golden Knights (22-8-5), ranked fourth in the nation, and Crimson (14-16-2) will face off again on Saturday. If Clarkson wins, the Knights will advance to Albany next weekend for the league’s championship tournament at the Times Union Center. If Harvard wins on Saturday, the teams will play a deciding third game on Sunday with the winner advancing.

Cornell falls to 14-12-4 on the year and faces elimination in game two of the series on Saturday night, while Quinnipiac improves to 19-13-5.

Colgate advances to the quarterfinals of the league playoffs, and will play either St. Lawrence or Clarkson in a best-of-three series starting Friday, Mar. 9.

With the win, the Bobcats advance to the quarterfinals next weekend, where they will travel to Cornell for another best-of-three series.

    Sophomore Sean Muncy fired in the winning goal just 1:24 into overtime to lift Brown over the Princeton men's hockey 4-3 in Game 1 of the first round of the ECAC Hockey League playoffs. For the third time this season and fifth time in the last five meetings between the teams, Princeton and Brown played into overtime with this marking Brown’s first win over the Tigers this season.

    SCHENECTADY, NY – The Brown University men’s hockey team edged Union, 3-1, in the two teams’ regular-season ECAC Hockey League finale at Messa Rink Saturday evening. Brown goaltender Mark Sibbald stopped 29 Union shots in his second win of the season, while Jason Walters (Renfrew, ON) snapped a 15-game scoreless streak with the lone goal for the Dutchmen in the first period.

    PRINCETON, N.J. -- The Princeton men’s hockey team completed the regular season and climbed to .500 with a 4-1 win over No. 14 St. Lawrence on Saturday afternoon at Hobey Baker Rink. Freshman Cam MacIntyre broke a 1-1 deadlock early in the third as Princeton completed a weekend sweep of the league’s top two teams, Clarkson and St. Lawrence.

    Senior Kevin Westgarth’s five-point night ignited the men’s hockey team to a 7-1 win over No. 6 Clarkson on Friday night at Hobey Baker Rink. The Tigers sprinted out to a four-goal lead in the first period, and never looked back to sweep the season series from Clarkson for the first time since 1989-90. The win boosts the Tigers’ record to 12-13-3 overall and 9-10-2 in the ECAC Hockey League, while the Golden Knights drop to 20-8-5 and 12-5-4 in the league.
