ALBANY, N.Y. - ECAC Hockey has announced its men’s weekly award winners, and Jack Drury (Harvard), Mark Gallant (Dartmouth), and Owen Savory (RPI) have all been honored for the week ending January 12, 2020.
Player of the Week
In the Crimson’s lone game of the week, Drury (So. - Winnetka, Ill.) put on a show in front of 10,000+ fans at Madison Square Garden, recording four points in a win over Yale. The sophomore recorded his first-career hat trick, and dished out an assist on another Harvard goal, becoming the teams first player to register four points in a game in 2019-20. Drury was named MVP of the “Rivalry on Ice” game for his performance.
Rookie of the Week
Gallant (Fr. - Concord, Mass.) was instrumental in Dartmouth’s 1-0-1 weekend against Vermont and Boston University. He scored one of the Big Green’s two goals in a tie against the Catamounts on Friday, before recording his first-career multi-point game (1G, 2A) in a three-goal comeback against BU Saturday evening.
MAC Goaltending Goalie of the Week
Savory (So. - Cambridge, Ont.) earns his second consecutive Goalie of the Week selection after posting a 37-save shutout against Colgate on Saturday. The Engineers goaltender was particular dominant in the final two frames, saving 18 shots in the second period and 12 in the third. He also played a part in one of RPI’s three goals, dishing out his third assist of the season.
