Sharf, Brind'Amour, Galajda Pick Up League Honors

ALBANY, N.Y. - ECAC Hockey has announced it’s men’s weekly award winners, and Ben Sharf (Colgate), Matthew Galajda (Cornell), and Skyler Brind’Amour (Quinnipiac) have all been honored for the week ending December 1, 2019.

Player of the Week

Sharf (Sr. - Williamsville, N.Y.) had a knack for scoring in Colgate’s trip to Belfast, Northern Ireland this weekend, finding the back of the net three times. He scored two of the Raiders three goals in Friday’s win over Princeton, before scoring again on Saturday in a hard-fought 4-3 defeat against Northeastern.

Rookie of the Week

Brind’Amour (Fr. - Raleigh, N.C.) played a key role in Quinnipiac’s 2-1 win over No. 10 UMass on Saturday, dishing out an assist on the game-winning goal. His biggest contributions came in the face-off circle, however, as the freshman won 13 draws over the weekend, which was tied for second in the league.

MAC Goaltending Goalie of the Week

Galajda (Jr. - Aurora, Ont.) posted his first shutout of the season under the bright lights of Madison Square Garden on Saturday evening, sending aside all 28 shots he faced in Cornell’s 2-0 win over Boston University. The junior is now ranked second in the nation with a 1.34 GAA to this point in the season.
