Dunne, Kjellberg, Marotte Honored for October Performances

ALBANY, N.Y. - ECAC Hockey has announced its men’s monthly award winners for the month of October, and Josh Dunne (Clarkson), Simon Kjellberg (RPI), and Frank Marotte (Clarkson) have all been honored.

Men’s Player of the Month

Dunne (So. - O’Fallon, Mo.) led the league in scoring this month, recording eight points on three goals and five assists. In the Golden Knights’ three games against nationally-ranked opponents, Dunne rose to the occasion, scoring a pair of goals and adding three assists.

Men’s Rookie of the Month

Kjellberg (Fr. - Nashville, Tenn.) was instrumental in RPI’s strong start to the season, leading all ECAC Hockey rookies in goals (2), points (4), and points-per-game (0.80) during the month of October. He ended the month with a +3 on-ice rating, and proved himself to be a true two way player, block seven shots.

MAC Goaltending Goalie of the Month

Marotte (Sr. - Longueuil, Que.) was an iron man during the month of October, playing every minute in net for the Golden Knights and saving over 30 shots in all six contests. He finished the month with 206 saves (just 12 goals allowed), which included a 38-save shutout against nationally-ranked Wisconsin.
