ALBANY, N.Y. - ECAC Hockey has announced its men’s weekly award winners for the week ending January 13, 2019, and players from Cornell, Clarkson, and Harvard have all received accolades. Cornell’s Cam Donaldson earns player of the week honors, while Clarkson’s Josh Dunne takes rookie of the week, and Harvard’s Michael Lackey gets the nod for goalie of the week.
Donaldson led the offensive charge for the Big Red over the weekend, scoring a league-high three goals and adding an assist en route to a sweep of No. 13 Arizona State. The sophomore had a goal and an assist in Friday’s 6-1 win, before finding the back of the net twice on Saturday’s 3-2 victory.
Dunne, who was name the league’s rookie of the month in October, takes rookie of the week honors after leading the Golden Knights to a weekend sweep of Union and RPI, extending their winning streak to six straight. The freshman scored one goal and added an assist in each game, increasing his season points total to 11.
Lackey was outstanding in Harvard’s three games this week, making 97 saves while allowing just 1.97 goals-per-game. In Saturday night’s win over No. 6 Quinnipiac, the senior stopped 46 of the 47 shots he faced (.979 save %), propelling the Crimson to a 2-1 victory.
