ALBANY, N.Y. - ECAC Hockey has released its men’s weekly awards for the week ending November 4, 2018, and three different schools are represented with players. Princeton’s Ryan Kuffner takes home Player of the Week honors, while Harvard’s Jack Rathbone wins Rookie of the Week and Clarkson’s Jake Kielly takes Goalie of the Week.
Kuffner has not slowed down since his All-American campaign last year, as he’s already posted four goals and two assists through his first three games. He scored two goals against both Dartmouth and Harvard this past weekend, three of which came on the power play. He also added an assist in each game, leading the Tigers to a 1-0-1 mark over the weekend.
Rathbone led the Crimson in scoring over the weekend, scoring two goals and tallying three assists in the two games against Quinnipiac and Princeton. His big game came in Harvard’s tie against Princeton on Saturday, as the rookie scored and assisted twice in that contest. The West Roxbury, Mass. native has recorded at least one point in every ECAC Hockey league game so far this year.
Defending MAC Goaltending Goalie of the Month winner Jake Kielly had another strong week for Clarkson, saving 60 shots over the two games this past weekend. He allowed just one even strength goal during the two game set, and recorded his first shutout of the year on Friday against RPI.
