Men's Weekly Awards: Big weekend seals awards for Union and Clarkson

ALBANY, N.Y. - Both Union and Clarkson were 2-0 in non-league play over the weekend, and as a result, both have players named to the weekly honor roll for the week ending October 21, 2018. Union names two players to the team in Brett Supinski (Player of the Week), and Darian Hanson (Goalie of the Week), while the Golden Knights' Brian Hurley was named Rookie of the Week.

Hurley helped lead his team to a 2-0 weekend, including a win on Friday over No. 13/15 Wisconsin. The Dellwood, Minn. native had a power-play goal and an assist against the Badgers, and also chipped in another assist in Saturday’s win over Holy Cross.

Darian Hanson helped the Dutchmen stay undefeated in 2018-19 with a pair of wins over No. 12-ranked Northeastern. Hanson ended the weekend with 68 saves, posting a 1.99 goals-against average, and a solid .944 save percentage.

Despite Hanson’s strong play in net, Union still needed scoring to take down Northeastern, and that scoring came from Supinski, who finished the weekend with four points (two goals, two assists). Both of the goals came in Friday’s 4-3 win, one of which was a short-handed goal that kept the Dutchmen in the back-and-forth game.
