ALBANY, N.Y. - It’ll be an exciting weekend for the ECAC Hockey men, with a number of top 20 matchups on the slate. League points will be at stake as well, as teams begin to make their final push with less than two months remaining in the regular season.
No. 15 Union and RPI will head north this weekend to face No. 16 Clarkson and St. Lawrence for the second time this season. The Golden Knights are riding a four-game winning streak into the weekend, which includes a pair of wins against nationally ranked opponents.
Dartmouth and Harvard will also be in ECAC Hockey action as they travel to No. 6 Quinnipiac and Princeton for a set of games. The Bobcats have dropped just four games thus far in 2018-19, one of which came in their first matchup against Dartmouth.
No. 17 Cornell is coming off a three-point league weekend, picking up a win over Princeton and tying Quinnipiac 2-2. They’ll be squaring off in a top-20 matchup against No. 13 Arizona State this weekend at Lynah Rink.
Colgate and Yale will both play in non-league games as well, as the Raiders welcome UMass Lowell for a pair of games while Yale plays host to Sacred Heart for a single contest on Saturday. The Raiders moved into a tie for fifth after a big league weekend a week ago, beating both Quinnipiac and Princeton on the road.
Five teams represent ECAC Hockey in this week’s national polls, with Quinnipiac leading the charge at No. 6. Union (No. 15), Clarkson (No. 16), Cornell (No. 17), and Yale (No. 19) are also ranked nationally.
