Four ECAC Hockey Teams Earn Bids to NCAA Tournament

ALBANY, N.Y. - For the first time since the 1983-84 season, ECAC Hockey will have four teams skating in the NCAA Hockey Tournament. Clarkson, Cornell, Harvard, and Quinnipiac have all earned bids, and will hit the road next weekend for a chance to advance to the NCAA Frozen Four in Buffalo, N.Y.

ECAC Hockey leads all leagues with four bids to the tournament, followed by Hockey East (3), NCHC (3), Big Ten (2), WCHA (2), Atlantic Hockey (1), and one independent.

The first-round matchups are below:

    • No. 4 Harvard vs. No. 1 UMass (Northeast Regional)
      • Manchester, N.Y. / Friday, March 29 / 3 p.m. (ESPN 2)
    • No. 2 Clarkson vs. No. 1 Notre Dame (Northeast Regional)
      • Manchester, N.H. / Friday, March 29 / 6:30 p.m. (ESPN U)
    • No. 3 Cornell vs. No. 2 Northeastern (East Regional)
      • Providence, R.I. / Saturday, March 30 / 4:30 p.m. (ESPN NEWS)
    • No. 2 Quinnipiac vs. No. 3 Arizona State (Midwest Regional)
      • Allentown, Pa. / Saturday, March 30 / 7:30 p.m. (ESPN 3)

Should teams win their opening round matchups, they’ll move on to face the winner of the game within their regional. To view the entire bracket, click HERE

Teams will be playing for a chance to advance to the NCAA Frozen Four, which will be hosted this year at the KeyBank Center in Buffalo, N.Y. on April 11 and 13.
