ALBANY, N.Y – Defending ECAC Hockey regular-season champion Cornell has been picked to finish first in the 20th annual ECAC Hockey Media Association preseason poll.
The Big Red collected 16-of-21 first-place votes and earned 246 points.
Princeton, the defending ECAC Hockey tournament champions, came in second with 217 points. The Tigers received four first-place votes.
Clarkson finished third with 200 points, followed by Union in fourth with 193 points. Harvard came in fifth with 180 points and received one first-place vote. Dartmouth was sixth with 126 points.
Rounding out the poll are Yale (seventh with 124 points), Quinnipiac (eighth, 119), Colgate (ninth, 92), Rensselaer (10th, 56), Brown (11th, 47) and St. Lawrence (12th, 40).
Members of the ECACH Media Association preseason poll are forwards Max Veronneau and Ryan Kuffner of Princeton and Joe Snively of Yale. The defensemen are Harvard’s Adam Fox and Princeton’s Josh Teves. The goalie is Cornell’s Matt Galajda.
The poll was conducted by Ken Schott, Associate Sports Editor of The (Schenectady) Daily Gazette and chairman of the ECACH Media Association.
