Tufto, de Jong, Hanson Earn Men's Weekly Awards

ALBANY, N.Y. - ECAC Hockey has released the men’s weekly honor roll for the week ending November 25, 2018, and players from Quinnipiac and Union have been recognized. 

Odeen Tufto continued his hot start to the season this past weekend, moving into a tie for the league lead in points with 17. The sophomore had a five point night in Quinnipiac’s 7-2 win over Maine on Friday, recording his first career hat and adding a pair of assists. He added another assist on Saturday, helping the Bobcats to their fourth straight win, and earning ECAC Hockey player of the week.

Ethan de Jong also played a big role in Quinnipiac’s two wins over Maine, earning rookie of the week honors after a three point weekend (2G, 1A). The North Vancouver native had a positive impact on the ice all weekend, posting a +6 plus/minus rating, which topped the nation.

Darion Hanson has become a regular face to the weekly honor roll, earning goalie of the week honors for the third time in 2018. The sophomore was named MVP of the Friendship Four Tournament after allowing just two goals and leading Union to the tournament championship. He ended the weekend with 70 saves, posting a .972 save percentage and 0.96 goals-against average.
