ITHACA, N.Y. – Joe Snively and Dante Palecco scored goals in the second and third periods respectively to bring the Bulldogs to within a goal, but No. 18 Cornell hit an empty net and held on for a 4-2 win before a packed house at Lynah Rink in ECAC Hockey action.
The Big Red, which had a 9-2 advantage in shots in the first, jumped out to a 3-0 lead by early in the second period.
Snively, the senior All-ECAC forward, now has three goals in a pair of games to lead the Bulldogs.
Corbin Kaczperski made 25 saves for the Elis, who are now 1-1 overall and in conference play and face Colgate on Saturday at 7 p.m.
