ALBANY, N.Y. - With another week in the books for the ECAC Hockey men, three new faces have earned weekly award accolades for the week ending October 28, 2018. Dartmouth, and RPI, who each started their league seasons with wins, both have players who were honored.
Dartmouth’s Shane Sellar has been named the Player of the Week after a three point performance on Saturday against Harvard. The junior scored two goals and added an assist, leading the Big Green to a 7-6 overtime win in the exciting back-and-forth game against the Crimson.
Drew O’Connor also played a key role for Dartmouth during that game, recording a goal and two assists in the win. The freshman had a +2 on-ice rating, making an impact every time he hit the ice, and earning himself Rookie of the Week honors.
RPI’s Linden Marshall led the Engineers to a weekend sweep of No. 11 Union, stopping 68 of the 73 shots he faced to lead the league in saves. The sophomore allowed three goals on Friday and just two on Saturday, helping secure the two upset wins.
