With three different goals scorers and another solid effort in net by junior Jake Kielly (Eden Prairie, MN), Clarkson University completed a sweep in its home-opening weekend at Cheel Arena by holding off Holy Cross 3-1 on Saturday night before a crowd of 3,128.
The Golden Knights, who knocked off No. 13 Wisconsin 4-2 on Friday, improve to 2-2. Clarkson will host Canisius next Saturday before opening ECAC Hockey play on the road at Rensselaer and Union on November 2-3.

Sophomore Grant Cooper (Cornwall, ONT), junior co-captain Devin Brosseau (St. Lambert, QUE) and sophomore Jack Jacome (Caledon, ONT) scored the goals for the Knights, while Kielly posted 24 saves, including 10 in the final period.
For the fourth time in the first four games of the 2018-19 campaign, the Green and Gold struck first and it was Cooper connecting for the opening goal for the third consecutive game.
After a scoreless first period, Cooper gather in a pass from Jacome and knocked in shot from the bottom of the left circle at 3:06 of the second period. Freshman defenseman Brian Hurley (Dellwood, MN) also assisted.
Brosseau made it 2-0 on his first goal of the season, a power-play marker at 10:15 with freshman Josh Dunne (O'Fallon, MO) and junior Haralds Egle (Liepaja, Latvia) assisting.
The Crusaders got on the scoreboard to make it a one-goal game with a power-play tally by Charlie Barrow at 10:37 of the third.
With 32.2 seconds left on the clock, Jacome sealed the win, scoring into an empty net with junior Nico Sturm (Augsburg, Germany) and Cooper assisting.
The Knights held a 26-25 advantage in shots.
Clarkson was 1-of-6 on the power play and killed off three of Holy Cross's four man-advantage attempts.
