ORLANDO, Fla. – The Orlando Solar Bears have agreed to terms with rookie defenseman Tim Shoup for the 2018-19 season.

Shoup (SHOOP), 23, joins the Solar Bears after completing his college career this past season at Dartmouth College, where the senior served as an alternate captain, and led the Big Green defensive corps with 10 points (5g-5a) and 12 penalty minutes. In 107 career games with Dartmouth, the 6-foot, 190-pound blueliner recorded 25 points (7g-18a) and 73 penalty minutes.

“Tim was a reliable presence on the back end for his college team last season,” Solar Bears head coach and general manager Drake Berehowsky said. “We look forward to seeing what he can do for us in training camp.”

Shoup is the second Dartmouth alumnus to sign with the Solar Bears this offseason, joining fellow classmate and rookie forward Corey Kalk.
