League’s Weekly Awards Presented to Crema, Lackey & Lyon

ALBANY, N.Y. - ECAC Hockey men’s weekly awards were announced Tuesday, November 10 as Troy Crema from Dartmouth was selected as the league’s Player of the Week; first-year Harvard netminder Michael Lackey was tabbed as Rookie of the Week; while Alex Lyon, Yale earned his second consecutive Goaltender of the Week honor on the young season.

Player of the Week
Troy Crema, Dartmouth College
(Junior, Forward - Toronto, Ontario)

Crema recorded a career-high four assist game against Brown where the Big Green overcame a 3-1 deficit to score six straight goals to earn a 7-3 win. His previous career best for helpers in a game was one, accomplished five times. He then followed that up with a first-period goal the following night against No. 12 Yale to finish with a five-point weekend. He finished with a plus-minus rating of plus-5 for the two league games.

Rookie of the Week
Michael Lackey, Harvard University
(Freshman, Goaltender - Washington, D.C.)

Making his first two career starts, Lackey helped the Crimson go 1-0-1 against Yale and Brown in league action last weekend. He allowed just one goal to the Bulldogs, until they tied the game with an extra skater late in the game. Lackey came out the next night and made 21 more saves as part of a 5-2 win over the Bears for his first collegiate victory. On the weekend he stopped 54 of 58 shots, recording a .931 save percentage and 1.92 goals-against average.

Goaltender of the Week
Alex Lyon, Yale University
(Junior, Goaltender - Baudette, Minnesota)

Lyon stopped 62 of 66 shots in helping the Bulldogs grab three road points (1-0-1) on the road last weekend. In a showdown versus rival Harvard Friday night, he made 30 stopped in 65 minutes to help Yale earn a hard-fought tie and then followed it up with 32 saves in a win at Dartmouth. Not allowing a power-play goal last weekend, Lyon finished the weekend with a solid .939 save percentage and a 1.93 goals-against average.
