Schwartz Remembered for Positive, Pleasant Attitude

REGINA — Brent Bobyck’s voice repeatedly cracked as he fondly remembered Mandi Schwartz on Monday.
It was challenging at times for Bobyck to talk about Schwartz, who died Sunday at the age of 23 after a courageous battle with acute myeloid leukemia, but there was so much he wanted to say — so much that he had to say — as a tribute.
“She’s one of the kindest people I’ve ever met,” said Bobyck, who worked closely with Schwartz and her two brothers when they trained with Regina-based Brent Bobyck Powerskating.
