Fighting Spirit of Schwartz Inspires Others

On one side of Mandi Schwartz’s hospital room in Saskatchewan sat machines and tubes, the items that help keep the sick alive and normally signify a bedridden stay.
On the other side sat a stationary bike and yoga mats -- signs that no sickness could hold Schwartz back.
The 22-year-old Yale hockey player, whose fight with leukemia has inspired teammates, communities and countries, is in the hospital for what friends and family hope is the last time for a long time.
