Team Notes: Last Road Trip Takes Yale to Brown

NEW HAVEN, Conn. -- The Yale women's hockey team's visit to
Brown Tuesday night (7:00 p.m., Pay-per-view Video) will be the
final road game for the team's eight seniors, and it might bring
back some fond memories. Three years ago, the members of the Class
of 2009 were part of a historic win for the Yale program at Meehan
Auditorium.
Yale-Brown History
Yale's 3-1 over the Bears at Meehan on Feb. 14, 2006 brought an
end to a 37-game winless streak against Brown, one of many such
streaks the Bulldogs have put an end to in recent years. In fact,
Yale is now at a point where the current senior class will leave
with a winning record against Brown, the first class in school
history to accomplish that. The Class of 2009 is 4-2-1 against the
Bears, including a 4-1 win earlier this year in which three
different Bulldogs scored and sophomore goalie Jackee Snikeris
(Downingtown, Pa.) made 15 saves. In the game at Meehan three years
ago, Brown led 1-0 heading into the third period. But after forward
Jenna Spring '07 tied the game 16 seconds into the final frame,
senior forward Crysti Howser (Wilmette, Ill.) got the game-winner
at 8:58. A short-hander by forward Kristin Savard '07 at 14:34
sealed the win, and goalie Sarah Love '06 finished with 14
saves.
Bulldogs Close in on Milestones
With three games left, the Bulldogs still have some
accomplishments within reach. Wins in each of the remaining games
would give Yale 13 wins for the season, which would be third
all-time at Yale. Two more wins would make the senior class the
third-winningest class in Yale history. The Class of 2009 is
currently fourth (47 wins).
