This summer Helen Resor is running up mountains, lifting weights five days a week, and competing in rigorous treadmill fitness tests. In other words, she is trying out for the Women’s Olympic Ice Hockey Team, which will play at the 2010 Vancouver Winter Games.

From June 8-13, Resor, a recent Yale graduate, completed intense off-ice training at the Women’s National Performance Evaluation Camp in Colorado Springs, Colo., with 31 other selected U.S. hockey players.

“It was pretty tough,” Resor said. “We did a mile and a half of train tracks, up the mountain [Manitou Springs Incline].”
