Team Notes: Yale Set for Opening Weekend at Ingalls
The following article appeared November 5 on the Yale Web site.
NEW HAVEN, Conn. - The newly renovated Ingalls Rink re-opens
Friday night with Yale hosting longtime rival Princeton (7 p.m.).
The Bulldogs also host Quinnipiac Saturday (4 p.m.). Live stats and
live video from both games will be available on
yalebulldogs.com.
Yale (0-2-1, 0-2-0 ECAC Hockey) is seeking its first conference
wins of the season after dropping a pair to No. 7 St. Lawrence and
No. 2 Clarkson on the road last weekend. Junior goaltender Jackee
Snikeris (Downingtown, Pa.) made 59 saves and allowed only one goal
at even strength all weekend. Snikeris' .931 save percentage places
her eighth in the country.
The Bulldogs opened the regular season two weeks ago with a 2-2
non-league tie at Providence, then beat McGill 4-2 in an exhibition
game. Junior forward Bray Ketchum (Greenwich, Conn.) has been
providing the bulk of the offense in the early going. Including the
exhibition and the preseason scrimmages vs. Brown and Princeton,
Ketchum had five goals in slightly more than 10 periods of hockey
over the first two weekends. Sophomore forward Aleca Hughes
(Westwood, Mass.) had three goals in that span.
