Team Notes: Yale Heads Back to Empire State

NEW HAVEN, Conn. -- The ECAC Hockey standings are tightly packed
in the early going, and Yale has a chance to separate itself this
weekend with its last conference games until Dec. 4. The Bulldogs
visit Colgate Friday (7:00 p.m., Live Stats on Colgate's website)
and Cornell Saturday (3:00 p.m., Live Stats and Pay-per-view Video
on Cornell's website).
The Bulldogs (2-3-0, 2-2-0 ECAC Hockey) split the first two
weekends of conference play, placing themselves in a tie for fourth
in the standings. Senior forward Crysti Howser (Wilmette, Ill.) is
tied for fifth in the country in points per game (5-5-10 in five
games), and sophomore forward Bray Ketchum (Greenwich, Conn.)
(4-5-9) is tied for 10th. Howser is also tied for fifth in goals
per game and tied with Ketchum and 11 other players for seventh in
assists per game. Senior defenseman Helen Resor (Greenwich, Conn.)
is tied for seventh in points per game (2-3-5) among defensemen and
freshman forward Aleca Hughes (Westwood, Mass.) is tied for seventh
in points per game (2-4-6) among rookies.
Colgate (6-5-0, 1-1-0 ECAC Hockey, t-7th) is 5-2 at Starr Rink.
The Raiders have the No. 3 power play in the country at 30.4
percent, and freshman goalie Kimberly Sass is sixth in the country
in save percentage at .949. Senior forward Sam Hunt, a former Team
Canada U-22 player, has scored five of her team-high seven goals on
the power play. Senior defenseman Kiira Dosdall leads the team in
assists with 11.
