Team Notes: Ingalls Reopens This Weekend

NEW HAVEN, Conn. -- The first weekend of play at newly renovated
Ingalls Rink includes two key early season ECAC Hockey matchups for
the Bulldogs. They are seeking their first win against No. 9 St.
Lawrence in 35 tries (0-32-1) Friday night (7:00 p.m., GameTracker,
free live video on Yale All*Access). Clarkson (Saturday, 4:00 p.m.,
GameTracker, Yale All*Access) has won five of the last six against
Yale, including a sweep last season.
Yale Splits First Weekend of ECAC Hockey Play
Yale opened ECAC Hockey play with a 4-0 win at Union last Friday,
getting 12 saves from freshman goaltender Genny Ladiges (Almonte,
Ont.) and four points (2-2-4) from sophomore forward Bray Ketchum
(Greenwich, Conn.). Senior forward Crysti Howser (Wilmette, Ill.)
had a pair of goals and an assist. Her goals came 12 seconds into
the first period and 41 seconds into the second period. The
Bulldogs then dropped a 2-1 decision at RPI. The game was scoreless
entering the third period, but after senior defenseman Helen Resor
(Greenwich, Conn.) scored 45 seconds in the Engineers answered with
a pair of 5-on-3 power-play goals for the win. Ladiges made 23
saves.
Bulldogs Among National Leaders
Senior forward Crysti Howser (Wilmette, Ill.) is fifth in the
country in goals per game (four in three games) and tied for sixth
in the country in points per game (4-2-6 in three games). Sophomore
forward Bray Ketchum (Greenwich, Conn.) is also tied for sixth in
points per game (2-4-6 in three games). Ketchum is tied for seventh
in the country in assists per game (four in three games), while
junior defenseman Alyssa Clarke (Donkin, N.S.) and freshman forward
Aleca Hughes (Westwood, Mass.) are tied for 15th (three in three
games). Clarke is tied for ninth in points per game among
defensemen (0-3-3 in three games). Hughes is tied for sixth in
points per game among rookies (1-3-4 in three games). Freshman
goaltender Genny Ladiges (Almonte, Ont.) is fifth in the country in
goals-against average (0.98) and sixth in save percentage (.949).
