Union Visits Local Classroom

On January 26, members of the Union College Women's Ice Hockey team went and visited the Central Park International Magnet School. The members of the team talked with and answered questions in the kindergarten classrooms about hockey and Canada.  The kindergartners had just finished their unit on Canada so they had many questions for the Canadian players that attended.  After the team talked they took time to sign autographs and teach the kids how to play hockey.

"I really enjoyed being with the kids. I was amazed at how much energy they had and how receptive they were to us. Hopefully we inspired some of them to start playing hockey" said junior Kelly Alyea.

“It was awesome to see kids be so excited to learn about hockey and Canada. Being able to share and teach these kids the game of hockey and Canada was a great experience, a ton of fun, and we had a lot of good laughs” said freshmen Stefanie Thomson
