SCHENECTADY, NY -- The Union College women’s ice hockey
team plays its third and fourth straight home games by welcoming
Harvard on Friday and Dartmouth on Saturday to Messa Rink. Union
carries a 2-21-3 record with a 0-13-1 ECAC Hockey mark, while
Harvard is 8-7-3 and 8-4-2 and Dartmouth is 12-6-2 and 9-3-2. The
Dutchwomen only have eight games remaining in their season and
after this weekend their only home contests are on Feb. 20 against
Colgate and Feb. 21 against Cornell, closing out the season.
Despite two losses to No. 4 St. Lawrence (4-1) and Clarkson (3-0)
during the weekend, the Dutchwomen are making strives in their
performances. Since the New Year, Union has not lost by more than
three goals and has been competitive in every outing. Against St.
Lawrence on Friday, freshman Lauren Cromartie gave Union an early
1-0 lead. Although Union would eventually lose, senior Lundy Day
make 36 saves. Against Clarkson on Saturday, Day made 43 saves for
her ninth 40-plus save effort of the season.
With a goal against St. Lawrence, Cromartie gained control of the
top spot on Union’s scoring list. This season she has tallied
four goals and four assists for eight points. Four other
student-athletes sit right behind her with seven points each. They
include junior Jackie Koetteritz, Marissa Gentile and Lauren
Hoffman and Adelle Calahan.
