Team Notes: Special Events Set for Dutchwomen Finale

SCHENECTADY, NY -- Last season the Dutchwomen raised more than
$11,700 during Pink at the Rink, a joint venture between ECAC
Hockey and the American Cancer Society. The two organizations have
teamed up again and Union will host the festivities during its
final weekend of Feb. 20-21. Colgate comes to town for a 7 p.m.
contest on Friday and Cornell arrives for a 4 p.m. outing on
Saturday.
During the 2008 event, the Dutchwomen traded in the garnet and
white for pink jerseys that were auctioned. This season, the team
will use pink sticks that fans and supporters can go online to
place a bid. Pink at the Rink is a variation of the traditional
Coaches vs. Cancer program that provides critical outreach, while
raising funds in support of the American Cancer Society’s
lifesaving cancer research, education, advocacy and community
service. Last year the conference raised over $55,000 during the
event. For more information and to bid, visit

Lundy Day and Stephanie Gilbert will be participating in their
final collegiate game on Saturday and will be recognized at the
conclusion of the contest. Since transferring to Union before the
2007-08 season, the Calgary, Alberta native has started all 62
games she has played, posting a .903 save percentage, which ranks
second all-time in Union history. Early this season, Day became the
school’s all-time saves leader and she leaves the record at
2,183 career saves. Entering the weekend, she leads the country
with 1,102 stops.
