Arseneault Selected to ECAC Hockey All-Star Team Against Team USA
ALBANY, N.Y. – ECAC Hockey announced Thursday that
sophomore forward Émilie Arseneault will represent the ECACH
All-Star Team when it will face the United States Women’s
National Team on Jan. 4 at the TD Bank Sports Center on the campus
of Quinnipiac University.
As part of Team USA’s 2009-10 Qwest Tour, the 10-game
domestic tour was created to prepare Team USA in the elite-level of
competition for the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, B.C.
“The ECAC Hockey All-Star game will be a great event for our
league and for Team USA,” said Union College head coach
Claudia Asano. “It is an honor to have Émilie chosen
from our team, and a reflection of both her talent and work
ethic.”
As one of the six sophomores selected to the team, Arseneault will
make her first appearance to the all-star game. This season, she
has scored three goals and posted one assist. Arseneault is
currently second on Union’s scoring list this season.
A native of Rothesay, N.B., Arseneault has been known for her
speed. In 16 games played, she has averaged 3.75 shots per game, a
team-high.
Arseneault’s first goal was on Oct. 16 against Sacred Heart
in the Dutchwomen’s home opener. In addition, she scored the
go-ahead goal in Union’s 3-1 win over Sacred Heart on the
following day.
